|
LIEKKI application designer (LAD) v4.0 consists of a broad range of component models, calculation algorithms and reporting tools embedded in a user-friendly graphic interface. This allows fast and accurate simulations for performance evaluation for fiber based lasers, amplifiers, and amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) sources.
New LAD v4.0 features
- Multimode analysis of bend fibers
LAD v4.0 allows seeing propagation effects of higher order modes in bent fibers. This enables the evaluation of optimum bending radius for certain higher order mode discrimination.
- Variable step size in transient analysis
LAD v4.0 allows simulating low repetition pulsed lasers by setting a short time step to describe the pulse and long time step for the period between pulses.
- Design wizards
LAD v4.0 creates designs and runs simulations through a window based step-by-step approach. This allows checking quickly the most common designs by answering a few questions. As a start LAD v4.0 provides wizards for EDFA, YDFA, YDFL and ASE sources. More wizards will be added in the future.
- Optimization tools
LAD v4.0 allows optimizing design parameters for specified targets, for example to obtain the optimum fiber length for higher gain.
- Concentration conversion table
LAD v4.0 calculates active ions concentration in various formats.
- Mode field and cutoff calculation
LAD v4.0 calculates mode field profile, effective index, cutoff and bending losses for guided modes.
- LIEKKI EasySplice integration
LAD v4.0 launches LIEKKI EasySplice, an Excel based application that provides splicing settings for LIEKKI fibers.
